Peacetree Estate was established in 1995 with the planting of 180 olives trees.
Three generations of Tuckers planted the trees in one of the hottest Januarys in Western Australia's history with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius.
The olives were upstaged the following winter by the planting of five acres of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon cuttings.
New experiences became challenging each season from planting to trellising to pruning. Hand picking became an experience we shared with only our closest friends. What sounded like a romantic weekend turned out to be solid hard work and there was plenty of celebrating in the evenings to regain sanity.
The grapes proved to be of a high standard and disease free because there was little if any outside machinery entering the vineyard.
In 2001 we decided to take the plunge and bottle our own wine under the label Peacetree Estate. The name was taken from the olive branch symbolizing peace and the hardy trees that we planted.
In December 2002 we opened our cellar door sales with the support and help from the Family.
Within five months, and having conducted no advertising we had sold out of our 2001 vintage. A mighty effort considering our road signs were not erected until April 2003. With six cases of each of the 2001 varieties in tow we introduced our 2002 vintage seven months earlier that we had intended and again with great success.
